The following prayer is for all of us who struggle with emotional wounds and have trouble forgiving those that have hurt us or those we love.
Emotional wounds left unhealed can turn into anger, hatred, pride, and/or resentment.
Jesus is kind and merciful and He wants us to heal our wounds so we can live free from these spirits that turn us inward and away from Him.
May you allow Jesus to enter your wounded heart, so He can heal it and you can be free to live and love as He does.
A Prayer to Free You from the Spirits of Anger and Resentment
Jesus, I come before You now and desire to free myself from the spirits of anger, hatred, pride, and/or resentment. Break the chains that bind me to these spirits that keep me from living in the freedom of True Love, Your Love, the Love of Your Most Sacred Heart.
Jesus, I confess to You my anger, frustration, hatred, pride, and/or resentment about _________________ (repeat this as many times as necessary for everything you are struggling with).
I hand this (these) situation(s) or person(s) over to You.Â
I hand over to You all those who have injured me in any way.Â
I lay down all my anger, frustration, pride, hatred, and/or resentment at the foot of Your cross.Â
Jesus, in Your Name, I renounce the spirit of anger.
Jesus, in Your Name, I renounce the spirit of pride.
Jesus, in Your Name, I renounce the spirit of hatred.
Jesus, in Your Name, I renounce the spirit of resentment.
Jesus, in Your Name, I renounce the spirit of revenge.
I ask that You pour Your Most Precious Blood over my soul and cleanse me from all stains of sin.
Jesus, free me from the bonds of anger, hatred, pride, and resentment. Free me from any desire for revenge I may hold in my heart.
In Your Name, Jesus, I renounce all thoughts, spirits, or desires that do not come from You and that do not lead me to You.
Jesus, let me only experience Your love.
Jesus, lead me to the arms of the Father.
Jesus, fill me with the peace of the Holy Spirit.
Enter into my heart, Jesus.
Heal me at the core of my being. Then, I beg of You, Jesus, tuck me away in Your Most Sacred Heart, my refuge, my safe harbor, my eternal resting place. Amen.
I pray that your ministry will continue to serve all those in need according to the will of the Father. May you receive peace and joy for serving God so freely.
