With even the most loving of families, sometimes holiday gatherings can be difficult. Even when time has seemed to heal relationships and old wounds, sometimes deeply entrenched family dynamics still make their way into our interactions with others and the sting from old hurts find their way back into our hearts.
Know if this happens to you during your time with family and friends this holiday season, Jesus is right there with you. He’s by your side and wishes to embrace you with His love and healing.
The following prayer has helped in my times of need:
“Jesus, help me to see ____________ through Your eyes. Help me to love ___________ with the Love of Your Heart.”
You may have to repeat these words many times, but with a sincere desire in your heart to love as He does, rest assured, He will immerse you in His Love and begin to heal your heart before you utter the words of the prayer above.
You can also use the above prayer for yourself, as it seems many times the person we have the most difficult time being compassionate with is ourself.
“Jesus, help me to see myself through Your eyes. Help me to love myself with Your Heart.”
May each and every one of you rest in His Heart always.
