The Gift of Christmas for Anxious and Suffering Souls

If you find you’re struggling this Christmas season with anxiety, depression, distress or are just generally stressed out – it’s okay, and you’re okay.

If you’re struggling with feeling joyful and are having a hard time looking forward to the new year – it’s okay, and you’re okay.

The good news and gift of Christmas is that there’s someone who completely understands what you’re feeling, your experience and knows your heart in the way only someone who created it can.

He loves you regardless of whether you’re joyful, depressed, happy, anxious, calm, completely stressed out, at peace or in shambles. He just loves you. Completely. So much so that God sent Him to live as you do, to be human and to truly understand all that entails.

This prayer is a reflection on this truth and the gift of Christmas for those who are anxious and suffering. From one anxious and suffering soul to another, may you experience the gift of Jesus and the Healing which comes from His Heart this season and in the year to come.

In His Heart,

Prayer to Reflect on the Gift of Christmas for Anxious and Suffering Souls

My dear Jesus,

This morning I contemplate Your birth, the great gift from God the Father to all humankind.

In You, He gave us a Savior that understands us because He lived as we live, suffered as we suffer.

I know You have experienced the trials of this life. You have experienced stressful situations from Your infancy to Your last breath.

In Your mother’s womb, You must have experienced her stress in finding a place to give birth.

As a babe, You must have felt the urgency of Your parents as they fled to a different country and sought refuge from King Herod.

Throughout Your life, You experienced rejection and betrayal from others, especially those which claimed to love You.

And what anxiety You must have experienced in the Garden of Gethsemane, as You anticipated what was to come!

I know You understand to a perfect degree the anxiety, fears and emotional and physical suffering I have experienced.

I rest in Your Heart, experiencing great peace, as I know I am never alone, there is always someone who understands me, who will console me and who will heal my wounded heart – all I need to do is surrender my heart into Yours!

This is the great gift of Christmas, the joy that comes from knowing the King of Kings knows me, loves me, understands me and desires to heal me completely – You only ask for my heart.

Amen, Jesus, my heart is Yours forever and always.
