On this Fathers Day, remember no matter the state of our hearts, whether sad or distressed, anxious or fearful, there is one way to always find peace. This way is to think of God the Father and the many blessings He’s given us.
If you are discouraged, turn to Him. Thank Him for the people in your life, the food you have to eat, and the bed where you lay your head to rest.
When you are sad, turn to Him. Thank Him for those closest to you, for the clothes you have to wear, and for the clean water you have to drink.
When you are anxious, turn to Him. Thank Him for the example of the life of His Son Jesus. Surely the anxiety Jesus must have felt as He neared His death and the pain He endured for the sake of our souls so we may have eternal life was great. Ask God, the Father, for the same strength, peace and love He gave His Son, so you may endure the anxiety you experience now.
Most importantly, always turn to Him, focus your attention on Him. He desires you turn to Him always, and in return, He will give you all you need to make it throughout all the trials you go through and so much more. For God is a Father who loves all His children to a degree we could never imagine.
Turn to Him. Thank Him always. Be generous with the attention you give to Him, and know He will bless you, for our God is never outdone in generosity!
Prayer to God the Father
My dear God,
You are a good Father. A Father that loves all of me.
You probe my heart and seek me out.
You call to me when I hide from You in guilt and shame.
You yearn for my return of Your love so much that You even shower me with blessings when I turn from You!
You stop at nothing to win my heart over for Yourself and keep me from being ensnared by the lures of the world and the evil one.
There is no other God but You. You nurture me, You hold me, You guide me, You protect me from spiritual harm as long as my heart longs for You – and it does, it always does! For it was You that put this very longing in my heart!
I rest in Your love this morning, my dear Father, basking in the light of Your eternal peace.
Father God, my soul is Yours forevermore.
