Most of us have all experienced it at some point – the Sunday evening blues.
Knowing the weekend is coming to a close, we begin to think about Monday morning and the week that lies ahead.
While, on some level, even thoughwe know there is generally very little we can do about all the things we are worried about in this very moment, we allow ourselves to be consumed by it anyway – to the point we seem unable to shake the anxiety of having to start another week and the sadness the weekend is almost over. We completely lose the peace of being in-the-moment with the blessings God has given us!
On my heart is a desire to remind you how much God seeks to give you the assurance of knowing everything that lies ahead is already taken care of, so you can enjoy the beauty that Sunday evenings offer – a time of rest to reflect on His many blessings that He’s given you throughout your weekend (and all your life!).
In reflecting on the blessings and graces He’s given you, you are filled with gratitude that helps strengthen you for the week ahead.
Also, in seeing how He has blessed you, you experience the grace of humility and the awareness of knowing just how much Jesus desires to take care of you, how He always has and always will – you just have to give everything to Him!
May you be immersed in His Heart of merciful love this Sunday evening!
A Prayer for the Sunday Evening Blues
Jesus,
The week ahead and all it entails has begun to weigh down upon my heart.
What should be a full day of resting in You, has become an evening of fear and anxiety.
Jesus, I desire to exist in Your peace alone, to live as though fear and anxiety do not exist!
“They do not [in My Heart],” You speak to my soul.
Amen, Jesus, take all my concerns, worries, trepidations, sadness, any desires to give up or walk away from it all, and the general anxiety that runs through my veins – I give it all to You!
Calm my anxious heart, so that it only knows the love and peace of Yours.
I trust in You that what is to come in the week ahead has already been taken care of by You.
May the rest of my evening be spent immersed in the peace, love and healing of Your Most Sacred Heart.
Amen, my Jesus.
