Hope.
Sometimes this is all we have.
But what happens when we’ve lost it? How do we get it back?
Overcome with sadness, grief, depression and what may seem like never-ending tears, we can feel a sense of hopelessness, that things will never get better.
Maybe we’re having constant setbacks and have become extremely frustrated. It may seem whatever we try nevers work out. And just as things begin to look up, something else happens to knock us down.
Sometimes all we can do is look up to God and ask Him, “My God, why have you abandoned me?”
If you’re feeling this sense of hopelessness and as though things will never get better, remember, you have love, compassion and peace awaiting you in the Heart of Jesus. He will restore your hope.
A Prayer for Hope
My dear Jesus,
When I feel as though the happiness and peace I once felt will never return again and I can no longer go on, help me to wrap my arms around the foot of the cross.
When I feel overcome with sadness and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel, fill me with Your pure, healing light so my doubts of recovery are no longer.
When agony and pain fill my heart, comfort me so I am not overcome by grief.
When others around me hurt me with insensitive words and actions, console me and give me a heart of forgiveness — for I do not wish to be bound by any desire of revenge!
When I feel no one understands me and all are against me, console my heart and allow me to feel Your great understanding.
When I can no longer feel any sense of hope, wrap me in Your arms and fill my mind, body, heart and soul with the hope of heaven.
There is no greater hope than that which comes from You.
I trust in You, Jesus. I trust in Your love and mercy.
Heal my heart, fill me with Your hope. Let my life be an example to others who are hopeless — that there is always hope to be found by resting in Your Heart.
Jesus, fill me with Your Peace, fill me with Your Love, fill me with Your Joy.
Amen.
Amen! Your prayers are always so wonderful!
I can always use the reminder to have hope. Thank you!
