Lent Preparation Prayer

Jesus, I come before you in complete abandonment.
I acknowledge You as my Creator and Redeemer.
I desire to come to know You more this lent.
I desire to live for You alone.
Help me to desire and grow in the virtue of humility.

You know my heart better than I ever will.
Communicate to my heart how You desire I spend this lent, in order that I may grow in holiness and more completely devoted to You.

Jesus, calm my fears and doubts in order that I may be able to understand Your will for me.
Prepare me to always seek You first when I feel tempted to abandon Your will for mine.
Purify my heart.
Transform my soul.

May my only desire be to live for You.
May I accept suffering I may experience willingly and offer it up for love of You.

I trust in You.
I give You complete control of my life.
May this lent be spent totally devoted to You in all ways.

And may Mary and her Most Immaculate Heart keep me close to her Pure Heart, as she knows Your Heart deeply and suffered greatly for love of You. May I turn to her when I struggle, as I know she will always lead me to You and Your Most Sacred Heart, where mercy is endless and peace and unconditional love are infinitely abundant. Amen.
