Reflection: “Lead me out of my prison”

“Lead me out of my prison, that I may give thanks to your name. Then the just shall gather around me because you have been good to me.”
Psalm 142: 8

Reflection
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
There are times when we truly feel trapped by our fear, as if we can’t escape it. The sadness overwhelms us and we feel weighed down by what feels like a thousand tons. Then there are cycles we find ourselves in, repetitive behaviors we know only lead us to misery, and it is as if we are unable to stop them.

Fear not, my beloved sisters and brothers! Jesus is there to free us from our prison of anxiety, pain, fear, sadness, and cycles which lead us to misery. Turn to Him, tell Him your troubles, abandon yourself into His Heart. He desires to shower you with His love. He desires to show you how to overcome and triumph over all that ails you! Surrender your heart into His. He will lead you out of the state you are in, into a place of pure peace, pure joy.

He only asks that you turn to Him, look to Him for all you need. He knows your heart and desires to heal you.

Prayer
Dear Jesus,
I feel consumed with fear and sadness, sometimes so much it is as if an enormous weight is holding me down. I find myself unable to stop doing things and keeping myself out of situations I know will eventually only lead me to anxiety and misery. But I trust in You, Jesus. I trust in You, and Your love for me. I turn to You, Jesus, I give You my heart, mind, body, and all of myself. Heal me Jesus, console me poor heart.
