Prayer To Love Those Who Cause Wounds With The Love of Jesus’ Most Sacred Heart

It is so difficult when we are hurt, angered, or wounded by the words and actions of others to love them and see them as Christ does – with mercy, compassion, and unconditional love. However, Christ calls us to do this very thing. It is, of course, understandable and natural to feel all these emotions – to be outraged, cry out in anger, cry tears of sadness and pain. In the midst of our brokenness, may we remember to always turn to Jesus, gaze upon Him, let Him comfort us in our pain, anger, and sorrow.

It is through Jesus’ Most Sacred Heart and His transformation of ours, that we will begin to see those who cause hurt, pain and sorrow in their true state. They, just as we all are, are wounded souls, which instead of condemnation need mercy, instead of judgement need compassion. Let us always look to Jesus’ act of mercy on the cross. He looked up to His Father and asked for mercy upon His captors, persecutors, and executioners. When we hear or witness acts of injustice, may we immediately turn to Jesus and pray for the conversion of hearts – all hearts, for hearts that suffer and for hearts that cause that very suffering.

Prayer To Love Those Who Cause Wounds With The Love of Jesus’ Most Sacred Heart

Jesus, Your Most Sacred Heart is the source of all goodness and mercy, the source of unconditional love and compassion. With all my heart, I desire to be transformed into the person You created me to be. I desire to love others as You created me to love them, forgive them as You created me to forgive them, have compassion and mercy as You created me to be compassionate and merciful.

Jesus, when I witness or hear of acts of injustice and cruelty, guide me first to gaze upon you and show me how to love them with the love of Your Most Sacred Heart.

Jesus, when I witness or hear of acts of racism and prejudice, may I turn to You and beg of You to show me how to love them with the Love of Your Most Sacred Heart.

Jesus, when I witness or hear of acts of violence and brutality, I will seek You first and beg for Your help in loving those who cause pain with the Love of Your Most Sacred Heart.

Jesus, when I witness or hear of acts of aggression, whether passive or overt, draw me to look upon You first, embrace me so I do not fall into the temptation of sin, and show me how to love those who commit these acts with the Love of Your Most Sacred Heart.

Jesus, help me to realize, I too, am a sinner. I too have caused wounds and pain in the lives of others and in myself. Yet, You love me anyway. You forgive me anyway. Help me to openly and completely receive Your love, mercy and forgiveness, so I may learn from You how to love, to be merciful and to forgive.

Jesus, help me never to forget about those who have been hurt, wounded, and forgotten.

Jesus, may my response to injustice always begin with prayer to seek Your guidance, which will assuredly lead me to live out Your Will for restoration and healing of hearts with love and mercy.

Jesus, help me to always desire mercy over revenge. And may Mary, in Her Most Immaculate Heart, Her Heart that was pierced, Our Lady of Sorrows, lead us to You always, guide us to Your Most Sacred Heart, where we learn how to love with Your Heart of Mercy, Your Heart of Forgiveness, Your Heart of Unconditional Love.
